Ten for Ten: Reflections Commemorating the Tenth Anniversary of 9/11

On September 11, 4 PM at The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Murphy's Law, a ten minute play by two time Tony nominee reg e gaines, headlines an afternoon of storytelling, poetry and dance commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Artists participating in the event include, poet/ dancer/ choreographer Jennifer Cedanas Armas, writer/ performer E.J. Antonio, poet Carlos Andres Gomez, activist and journalist, Annie Day, songwriter Shelly Gaines, poet Daniel Wilson from The Jersey City Performing Arts High School, actor/poet Joesph Washington, as well as dancers and MC's. Murphy's Law, is a look at the events of 9/11 through the eyes of two homeless black men who reside in Washington Square Park. Filled with irony, comedy and drama, the play gives voice to characters rarely acknowledged in the continuing media onslaught. The afternoon promises poetic reflection and artistic brilliance.
